  1. Hi,
I have a 2014 XC60 D5 R-Design with a Volvo detachable tow bar and single 13 pin electrics fitted in 2021. All has been fine in running caravans with both the new 13 pin electrics and the older 7 pin electrics with adaptor. A couple of weeks ago the Info system popped this message up “Trailer System Service Required” and I have not been able to clear it. Tested on a 13 pin caravan at the weekend and no lights on. Today checked earth – OK. Checked for damp in the connector but found the rear of 13 pin connector where wires enter through the grommet are sealed in with an epoxy. Checked fuses and relays etc and all seem ok. Now worried that the Trailer Module has gone faulty.
Any ideas please before I start paying out for a check through with dealer

Also at about same time I had another message appear “Engine Service Required”. This has not progressed into a DSTC code or Engine Light on yet only as a message. Checked with code reader and nothing showing. Service is not due yet either.
Would VIDA ( looking at the Boot&Go + J2534) be able to assist in these diagnostics or would I need the Dealer to investigate. The Trailer software was “turned on” by main dealer after the tow bar was fitted. My only other thought was the FA11 relay, would VIDA check that through as well?
Thanks in advance. Brilliant site as well, very educational.
