You may or may not have noticed, that the dashboard brightness adjustment wheel on your P3 platform volvo doesn’t work until the car decides its night time.
The dash is locked at ful lbrightness until the car decides its dusk.
On the older style analogue Clocks ( or DIM, Driver information Module) its not so much of an issue and barely noticeable, but if you have the modern TFT clocks (either from factory or retrofitted) the DIM stays at full brightness waaaay to long. You can try to adjust the brightness as much as you like, it has no effect until the car decides it night time.
It’s so freakin bright at dusk! What were they thinking.
Luckily this can be adjusted! And its actually something I do to EVERY volvo I come near.
In Vida go to Diagnostics, Vehicle communication, CEM , Advanced and look for “Setting Day and night mode for the instrumentation”, double click it and Choose “More night mode”.

Now the car will decide its dusk much earlier and control will be given back to the brightness wheel.
It warms my heart to know there are hundreds and hundreds of drivers out there who dont even know that this is an issue because i’ve been quietly fixing this issue…..not all hero’s wear capes hahaha.
