Some time ago a bloke made a program called SET FK Language, then he disappeared with all the links to it. Luckily I (and others) kept a copy.
This isnt an easy thing to do…but here are the instructions such as they are..
To switch between two (or more) languages you need to change the language preferred by the user that logins to VIDA 2014D.
These users are admin, 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on your market.
All these users get the language set by the patch that you installed earlier.
To change the language you need to use OSQL.EXE to change the “AccessServer” database setting “Users””fkLanguage”.
I have created simple shortcuts to a batch file for you to run, to change between English (US), Swedish, Spanish, French and Polish in this example package.
A. Unpack the “set_fkLanguage_v2.7z” to C:\VIDA\ and it will unpack in “C:\VIDA\set_fkLanguage”.
B. After you have unpacked the files, move the shortcut icons (VIDA en-US, VIDA sv-SE, VIDA es-ES, VIDA fr-FR, VIDA pt-PT) that corresponds to the languages that you have installed, to a preferred location of yours, e.g. the desktop.
C. To run VIDA DICE software in Swedish: double click the shortcut “VIDA sv-SE”, to run VIDA in English (US): double click the shortcut “VIDA en-US” and so on.
D. Wait for the VIDA icon to turn green (it is in the task tray by the clock), then double click it to open VIDA in IE.
E. If you start VIDA 2014D by other means than the custom shortcuts, it will start with the last language used until you change it again with the custom shortcuts.
So those are the instructions that came with “set_fkLanguage”, but it does not actually cover ADDING missing language packs or languages that were not already predefined….so…
For those who want to use this package for another language not already included:
– You need to copy one of the *.sql files inside “C:\VIDA\set_fkLanguage” , rename it to for example “de-DE.sql”, edit the line to LanguageCode=’de-DE’ in that file, save it and then run it .
With this example from a command prompt (or create a new shortcut to it with the switch “de-DE” without the quotes after the target):
set_fkLanguage.cmd de-DE
If your Vida installation did not include the language pack you want, you can download it from various places (Such as link below), then put it into the same place as the other language packs in the original DVD installation files and then do an “over the top” installation of Vida to add the new language. To expand on the is further. Extract the DVD iso with winrar if you haven’t already, then go and look into the extracted files you will see a folder called DB, this is where you have to add the language pack you want to add so that the installer can find it and give it to you as an option, when you then actually run the Vida installer.
You will have to repatch Vida after this operation
You can get Set FK Language from the downloads page https://svdns.info/wp/links-downloads/
You can download the language packs from here
