A Customer recently bricked their IHU (thats the Integrated Head unit or radio to normal people) ) during a routine software upgrade . With the cost and lead time from Volvo for a new unit being too great, an eBay donor unit was sought.
We expected it would not function until a reload was carried out, but would you believe it worked perfectly even adding some features!
Its not 100% “plug and play” as the IHU was also expecting some other features to be present which were not. So some buttons are there, when really they shouldn’t be as they cannot function. However it is possible to use Vdash to activate the missing features. Of course if any additional hardware is required, that needs to be fitted too.
But at least he has sound again for a (comparatively) cost!
